I’d like to share a poem that I wrote at the beginning of the year.
Its beastly bellows sweep through the holler,
like a dragon searching for its lost gold,
never to escape from the twists and plunges
these hills hide in their bosom, trees catching
hold with greedy fingers, unwilling to release
their captive until, worn down to shadows,
it passes like a sigh against the window,
not even alerting the dogs to its presence.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
I started re-watching Sex and the City recently and seeing Carrie writing her articles every episode has made me want to start writing again. Not exactly what I thought I’d get out of the show, but I’ll take it. After all, that is what I got my degree for – Creative Writing.
My first book of poetry came out a year ago and I haven’t done much writing since then. I’d say it’s about time to shake off the dust and try to get the creative juices flowing again. Maybe something a bit more novelly this time. Who knows, maybe I’ll write the next Great American Novel.
Guess we’ll see. Have a great day everyone!
The year has gotten off to a great start. I’m feeling hopeful and renewed. I already made a big change.
My hair went from blonde
to a dark auburn brown.
I’m quite happy with the results.
I also started writing poetry again. I haven’t felt inspired in a while, but that has changed. It all makes me feel alive and reborn. I hope that everyone else feels as revitalized as I do right now.
All the best for this wonderful new year!
Eight months ago, I published my first book. It’s a book of poetry titled Juxtaposition. It is full of poems that speak to both the light and the dark sides of humanity. I find the contrast between the two fascinating, especially since there is both in every person.
We must all find a balance between what is good and what is bad. Sometimes, that balance is harder to maintain than we’d like. Those are the times when we all need a little reminder that things will get better.
I want everyone to remember that depression lies. You are worth more than you know.
Five months ago, I published my first book – a book of poetry titled Juxtaposition that speaks to the highs and lows of life. Just before that, I started this blog. Since that time, many distractions have arisen to knock me off my chosen path of writing.
Things have started settling back down recently and so, I have decided it’s time to start writing again. I intend to post to this blog twice aweek – on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I also intend to learn more about blogging since I’m a novice and would like to improve.
I realize this post is rather short. I will work on making them longer and more detailed in the future. But for now, I’m just happy to be able to get something down.
For all those undertaking this journey with me, welcome and thanks for keeping me company.
