I recently binge watched the first season of A Discovery of Witches. They did a really good job on the show. I read the book a couple years ago and remember enjoying it. The show got me thinking that maybe I should re-read the book, and perhaps even read the other two books in the trilogy.
So, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I’ve gotten through about a quarter of the book in the past three days or so and I’m loving it all over again. Deborah Harkness has a way of making her characters feel real and relatable. The dialogue has a natural flow that is difficult to achieve, let alone maintain the way she does.
I would love to be able to write with such grace. Perhaps, one day I will. I just need to practice more, or at all.
I hope everyone has a productive weekend!
I started re-watching Sex and the City recently and seeing Carrie writing her articles every episode has made me want to start writing again. Not exactly what I thought I’d get out of the show, but I’ll take it. After all, that is what I got my degree for – Creative Writing.
My first book of poetry came out a year ago and I haven’t done much writing since then. I’d say it’s about time to shake off the dust and try to get the creative juices flowing again. Maybe something a bit more novelly this time. Who knows, maybe I’ll write the next Great American Novel.
Guess we’ll see. Have a great day everyone!
When Game of Thrones first came out, back in 2011, I tried watching it, but it was never much of a priority. I had much more important shows to watch, like Supernatural and True Blood.
My husband recently started watching Game of Thrones and I found myself getting drawn in. This culminated in us binge-watching the seventh season in its entirety yesterday.
It was awesome!
I am now quite impatient for the eighth, and final, season to begin in three weeks. I can’t believe I waited this long to watch such an impressive show. Better late than never.
Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
I just started watching the History Channel show Vikings and I am hooked!! I can’t believe I waited so long to start watching it. This show alone makes having Amazon Prime Video totally worth the annual investment.
I would continue to wax poetic about the show for pages and pages, but I want to know what happens next.
